Friedrich (Fritz) Reinhold 1814 Wien-1881 Ybbs an der Donau

The landscape painter Friedrich “Fritz” Reinhold was born in 1814 in Vienna as a son to Friedrich Philipp Reinhold, who was a painter, etcher and lithographer himself. In the years from 1830 to 1839, Reinhold studied at the Viennese art academy under Thomas Ender and Joseph Mössmer. After completing his studies, he took to landscape painting in the style of his father, which is why the work of both is hardly distinguishable. From 1834 to 1843 he traveled with his brother Franz Xaver through the Austrian alpine countries and to northern Italy. Noumerous works of Tyrolese landscapes followed. In 1881, Fritz Reinhold died in Ybbs an der Donau.
