Gelitin (früher Gelatin) b. gegr. 1993 in Wien

Gelitin is an artist collective consisting of Tobias Urban, Wolfgang Gantner, Florian Reither and Ali Janka. The group, which originally formed in 1993 under the name "Gelatin," lives in Vienna and is best known for its unconventional exhibitions and artistic happenings with sensation factor. The artists test the patience of gallery owners and the limits of art as well as public expectation and spectacle. Their performances and installations are often highly interactive and encourage or even depend on engaged participation. Gelitin has had solo exhibitions at many renowned institutions such as the Schinkel Pavillon in Berlin, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Vienna, the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Kunstraum Innsbruck, Kunsthaus Bregenz, MoMA PS1, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Sofia, Bulgaria or the Fondazione Prada, Milano (2017) and the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam (2018). In 2001 Gelitin represented Austria at the Venice Biennale and was also part of the exhibition there at the Arsenale di Venezia in 2011. (Source: www.fineartmultiple.de)
