Provenance
Until 1926, in the collection of Max Strauß, Vienna, then belonging to Ervin and Branka Weiss, Zagreb. In 1947, the Weiss Collection was declared a national treasure due to its national significance. After 1949, it was confiscated by the communist regime, and in 1955 it was transferred to the Moderna galerija (now the Nacionalni muzej moderne umjetnosti) in Zagreb, where the present painting was catalogued under inventory number MGP-529. In 2021, it was restituted to the heirs of Ervin and Branka Weiss, Zagreb. Artmark Auction, Zagreb (11 December 2025, lot 178).Literature
