Lena Göbel b. 1983 Ried im Innkreis

Frankenburg am Hausruck and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Gunter Damisch from 2003 to 2008. Afterwards, she lived in Berlin until 2013. Göbel is a member of the Upper Austrian Art Association and was awarded the Anton Faistauer Prize in 2020. In her work she focuses on large-format woodcuts, which are reworked with paint. She displays anthropo-zoomorphic figures that present themselves archaically beautiful and play with mythology, the subconscious but also social and gender identities. Lena Göbel lives and works in Vienna and Upper Austria.
